Mark Minder, RFC MBA
VP of Retirement Plans and Benefits
Mark started in the investment industry in 1996 as a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch in Dearborn, MI and after seeing how the large Wall Street firms put their own needs before their clients' needs, he wanted to make a change in that paradigm. In 2010 Mark started Minder Planning Group and then in 2020, sharing the same vision as Andrea Darden, he joined forces with her. Mark works with individual families in their wealth management needs specializing in providing solutions to doctors, business owners, and entrepreneurs.
Mark has his RFC® Registered Financial Consultant Certification through the IARFC. He also holds his MBA in Finance from Davenport University. He also worked at TIAA-CREF as the key investment advisor on over 30 institutional accounts throughout the state of Michigan. Mark has a passion for helping people build towards their personal financial goals and see them through their success.
His investment philosophy in a few words: Staying focused on why you are investing, not the day-to-day news feeds.
His market beliefs: Markets never seem to be rational; we must invest with a goal in mind and understanding of what risks are involved in obtaining that goal.
His favorite market books: The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham; Simple Wealth, Inevitable Wealth by Nick Murray; Stocks for the Long Run by Jeremy Siegel
His favorite book: Band of Brothers by Stephen E. Ambrose
His favorite mantra: Dance like no one is watching.
Mark has a daughter, Emmerson, and a black lab named Ozzy. Mark is a Member of Davenport University Alumni Board and in wanting to provide the opportunity that was given to him, has created an endowed Scholarship for students wanting to study finance from the Detroit area. In his free time Mark enjoys his local sports teams, travel and exploring history.
